The energy transition requires people, not just technology.

The energy and construction industries are experiencing unprecedented growth. Aerothermal energy, heat pumps, electrification and energy efficiency are setting the course for the future.

However, the biggest obstacle to this development is not technology or financing. It is something else: the lack of skilled labour in the HVAC sector.

This is not a one-off problem. It is structural, global and affects Europe, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and North America equally.

The skilled labour crisis in HVAC

For decades, there was a figure that has now almost disappeared: the interdisciplinary professional.

Installers capable of understanding an entire system, technicians who understood an air conditioning installation as a whole, and professionals who anticipated needs before problems arose.

Today, the reality in many works is different:

The result is a chain of delays, unproductive travel and accumulated delays that directly impact the profitability and efficiency of aerothermal and heat pump projects.

Artificial intelligence does not install heat pumps.

There is much talk about artificial intelligence as a universal solution. But we must be realistic in this area.

Artificial intelligence can not:

When it comes to installing and maintaining heating systems, the human factor remains irreplaceable.

The energy transition depends on qualified professionals, not just advanced technology.

The real challenge: technical and specialised vocational training

The problem can not be solved with more digital innovation. It can be solved with more training.

We need:

The HVAC sector needs to retrain technicians to think in terms of systems, efficiency and reliability, because without qualified professionals, sustainability is just a concept on paper.

Work, responsibility and progress

Industrial progress has never been the result of chance. It stems from applied knowledge, professional commitment and pride in a job well done.

When work loses its link to progress, industry stagnates. And at a time when energy efficiency and decarbonisation are strategic priorities, we cannot afford such stagnation.

Efitherma and it's commitment to simplifying installations

At Efitherma, we have been addressing this reality from an industrial perspective for years.

Our commitment to pre-assembled, plug & play, factory tested systems responds to a clear need:

Reduce installation times

Minimise improvisation on site

Standardise processes

Improve reliability

Optimise the work of qualified installers

These advances in equipment manufacturing mean providing installers with more efficient tools, optimising control over the process and allowing their technical knowledge to be applied where it really adds value.

In a context of scarcity, simplification is a strategic response.

Without qualified professionals, there can be no energy transition.

Decarbonisation, aerothermal energy, high-efficiency heat pumps and the electrification of the building stock depend on one essential factor: trained, committed and skilled people.

At Efitherma, we are sending a clear message to the sector:

Investing in people

Dignifying technical professions

Promoting training

Because without qualified installers, there will be no real efficiency, no lasting sustainability, no effective energy transition, and the energy future cannot be built with technology alone; it is built with professionals.
