Technology and operation

The AQ VENT unit is an air-to-water aerothermal heat pump with intelligent single-flow ventilation, which uses the air extracted from inside the home before expelling it outside. This air is reused by recovering heat to optimise the unit’s performance and ensure constant air renewal, promoting a healthy environment and also producing domestic hot water.

This heat pump increases energy efficiency and reduces electricity consumption, adapting to the daily needs of the home.

Installation and maintenance

The Efitherma AQ VENT system has been designed with ease of installation and end-user comfort in mind. Thanks to its rectangular shape, it can be fitted into any space or corner, making it adaptable even to small technical spaces such as storage rooms, utility rooms or small premises in urban buildings.

Another major advantage is the plug & play concept, which means that the equipment comes fully factory-ready for installation. This simplifies the work of installers, reduces start-up time and avoids risks associated with handling the equipment.

In terms of maintenance, the AQ VENT has been designed with a removable front panel to access the main components (heating element, anode, etc.), which facilitates any servicing. Recommended maintenance is minimal: an annual cleaning of the ventilation filters and a review of basic parameters are sufficient to ensure that performance remains optimal. In addition, the mobile application (EFI SmartApp) notifies you when it is necessary to change the filter or perform maintenance on the equipment. This approach makes AQ VENT a practical and low-cost solution for homes and buildings.

Sizing

The equipment must be positioned at the correct distances to ensure proper operation and easy maintenance. It is recommended that the front of the equipment be accessible for maintenance purposes.
Ensure that the area is accessible, respecting minimum distances.

  • Sufficient space for electrical and hydraulic connections.
  • Check that the location where the equipment is to be installed can support it’s weight.
  • AQ VENT is designed for vertical installation.
  • The installation site must not be an environment: outdoors, with corrosive gases, factories where the electrical voltage experiences strong fluctuations, places with electromagnetic wave sources, with flammable gases or materials, or other special environments.
  • Place the heat pump in a well-ventilated area with sufficient space. It must allow for pipe connections and wiring.
  • Equipment installed on the floor must be positioned at a distance that allows access to the rear for connection to the water supply, power hose and condensate outlet.

Energy efficiency and sustainability

One of the fundamental pillars of AQ VENT is its contribution to energy efficiency and environmental protection. Compared to electric heaters and other traditional systems, this equipment can reduce electricity consumption by up to 80%, which translates into significant savings on your electricity bill throughout the year.

Furthermore, by operating using aerothermal energy and harnessing the air as a renewable energy source, it reduces CO₂ emissions by around 70%. This not only improves household finances, but also helps to reduce the environmental impact of buildings and avoids the use of fossil fuels.

Another distinguishing feature is the use of natural refrigerant R290 (propane), which has a very low Global Warming Potential (GWP) and no negative effects on the ozone layer. Added to this is a design geared towards the circular economy, with recyclable components and materials designed to have a second life.

Certifications and regulations

The reliability and safety of AQ VENT are backed by compliance with the main European energy efficiency regulations.

ErP Directive

(Energy-related Products)

UNE-EN16147 Standard

For DHW heat pumps

CE Certified.

European Quality Control

Beyond regulatory compliance, AQ VENT is ready to be integrated into projects seeking high-level environmental certifications, such as LEED, BREEAM and Passivhaus, which are increasingly in demand in renovations and new buildings.

It is also compatible with subsidies and public aid aimed at improving the energy efficiency of homes and buildings. This includes the IDAE support programmes in Spain and the European Next Generation funds, making its purchase an even more profitable investment.

Comparisons and success stories from AQ VENT

The actual performance of equipment such as AQ VENT is measured in users’ day-to-day lives. Tests and experiences show that it can achieve estimated energy savings of between 1,500 and 2,000 kWh per year, depending on the location and consumption profile of each household.
